This year, the third edition of Ljubuški Outdoor Festival (LJOF) will be held from 25 until the 28th in May and, in addition to competitive disciplines, will also offer many additional contents and activities.
Applications for the third edition of LJOF are ongoing until 10 May, and all those interested can apply via the festival’s website www.ljof.ba.
Competitors who register via the website for one of the competitions in the festival program and pay the registration fee of 30 KM in his starter package he will receive official t-shirt of the festival, sponsor prizes, free visit the Kravica waterfall and the museum on Humac, free meal at the festival and a finisher’s medal at the end of his race, the organizers announced.
Otherwise, the Ljubuški Outdoor Festival as a whole consists of a set of sports and recreational activities that connect and revitalize the scattered cultural-historical and natural heritage along the competition routes.
On Thursday, May 25 , at 20:00 in the hall of the Ljubuški Cultural Center, there will be the opening of the festival and outdoor forums with very interesting guests who are active in tourism in the region.
The “Professor Žarko Bilić Memorial Kayak Race” on the Trebižat River along the beautiful “Bajer” embankment begins on Friday at 12:00 p.m., and the race is followed by a humanitarian kayak descent from Čeveljuša to the Kravica waterfall, where funds are collected for the Association of Parents of Children with Special Needs “RAINBOW”.
The outdoor fair starts on Friday at the Kravica waterfall with interesting workshops from the world of sport climbing, water sports, paragliding, speleology, cycling, diving, etc. and lasts three days of the festival.
Children’s races of up to 1 km in cycling and running start on Friday at 17:00 at the Kravica waterfall, participation is free , and children will receive a gift package from the sponsor as well as a medal for participation.
Also, on Friday evenings, bands from the Ljubuški music school and the well-known band Psihomodo Pop from Zagreb perform on the plateau above Kravica.
Furthermore, on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. the paragliding competition in precision landing “Kosača” starts and in the afternoon two running disciplines : half marathon “Dva Slapa” and Ljubuska ten “Scunasticus”.
After the racing events, all visitors to the festival will be able to enjoy the performance of Željko Bebek and his band, also on the plateau above Kravica.
On Sunday, everyone who registers will have the opportunity to start in the morning with mountain guides towards the highest peak in Ljubuško – Vrlosinj, 956 meters above sea level.
Sunday is also reserved for the “STIPE” and “MARA” bicycle races , which start from the Koćuša waterfall shortly before noon.
All visitors to the festival, whose main partner is Džajić Commerce, will be able to enjoy interesting contents offered by the outdoor fair, interesting competitions and musical treats.
