After two years of monotony caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Kravica waterfall on the Trebižat River near Ljubuški is once again becoming a Herzegovinian hit destination for both local and foreign tourists.
That it is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe, the famous BH. the jewel on the river Trebižat has come to life again, the director of JP Parkovi Nikica Vučić confirmed for our portal, stating that the number of visitors is increasing day by day, and this year he expects over 150,000 guests.
Although this is twice less than the number recorded in 2019. year, which was a record number of visitors to the Kravica waterfall, where 306,509 tickets were sold, according to him, it will be a great success for this year’s season.
He reminds that it is 2020. when the whole world was affected by the pandemic, only 33 thousand visitors visited Kravice, and in 2021 year, when guests began to return, the number of visits reached 105 thousand.
“This year, we hope that more than 150,000 guests will visit us, because visitors are already coming from all over the world. We are closely connected to the Adriatic Sea and Medjugorje, so we expect a shock wave from June 15 to August 15, because until 2019, the years that were not affected by the pandemic, that period was always a shock wave in terms of the number of visitors,” explained Vučić for Klix.ba.
Great significance for the promotion of the famous BH. waterfall, as he points out, has an outdoor festival, which was held this year for the second time in the locality of Kravica, and is unique in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to him, over 10,000 visitors passed through the Kravica area during the four days of the festival, many of whom, he believes, will return and tell others about the place.
The construction of the highway through Herzegovina will undoubtedly contribute to the popularization of this destination, because travelers who turn off the highway at Bijača only need three to four kilometers to the Kravica waterfall, which Vučić believes many will do.
He adds that this year they invested a lot of effort in marketing, both in the form of placing billboard posters throughout our country and in the digital promotion of Kravica, as well as enriching content interesting for all generations of visitors.
So after a two-year hiatus, they put the train back into operation, which is already working at full steam, and soon they will install a bridge with a platform that will allow visitors an unforgettable experience of the Kravica waterfall and take photos in the unique setting of the famous pearl of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the Trebižat River.
